Did you think that just because Free Week was over, you’d have some breathing room until SXSW? Not likely!
Sunday night, there’s a free show at Beauty Bar with Cari from Belaire doing Fancy Feast, a project of hers that hasn’t seen a live show in over a year. No Mas Bodas and Then Gayle Gold round out the lineup.
Thursday, Chillville artist the War Against Sleep are at Mohawk, while Tapes N Tapes, Wild Light, and Harlem play the Parish.
Friday, you’ve got an awesome yet difficult decision between the Parish and Mohawk again, and it all depends on if you’d prefer rocking or chillin’ out. Los Campesinos! and Titus Andronicus are at the Parish, and we know from personal experience that Titus Andronicus puts on a live show that will blow your mind. Or, for some acts near and dear to our mellow hearts, you’ve got the ridiculously talented – and local! – double punch of Shearwater and Brazos at Mohawk.
Saturday, if you’re not at the packed Broken Social Scene show at Bass Concert Hall, you should definitely groove out at Beauty Bar. Local shindig-throwers Learning Secrets are celebrating 5 years in the biz by pulling together a DJ lineup that’s perfectly simpatico with Chillville. You may not recognize the names Andrew Butler or Pat Mahoney, but I guarantee Hercules and Love Affair and LCD Soundsystem will ring a bell or two. Andy is the man behind H&LA, Pat drums for Soundsystem, and they’ll both be spinnin’ the night away. Even better? With an RSVP here, it’s all free!
