So it’s been 16 years since the Stereo MC’s biggest hit “Connected” smashed through the airwaves, but what you may not know is that they have had several full length albums and EP’s in between. Yes, they never went away – they have always been here. However, U.K. media has been a lot more accepting of them than over here in the U.S. (which is always been the case with several other bands across the pond that have a huge U.S. hit and are just written off by American media – for example Blur, Oasis, Primal Scream, and The Stone Roses. This is a completely different topic that I can get into some other time). But I assure you that they music they put out since the 1992’s Connected has not been a step down at all. They have grown over the years with their sound, which brings me to their latest LP entitled Double Bubble. The one thing that stands out on this new album is how much their music has matured. Not only are they still dropping groovy beats and bass-lines, but they have made live instrumentation a big part of their act. This is really apparent on today’s catch, “Changing”. Enjoy!
