I just hear about one of the coolest festivals that will be hosted by Massive Attack in London. The event will feature live sets from the band on both the opening and the closing nights of the first annual Meltdown Festival. Other acts that will be performing during the festival’s run (June 13-22) includes Elbow, George Clinton, the Cool Kids, and Chillville artist Flying Lotus. Now the most promising part of this is that one of Massive Attack’s sets will be include the entire soundtrack to the sci-fi classic Blade Runner. The band will get instrumental help from the Heritage Orchestra throughout the show. Vangelis composed and performed the tracks; which is one of the first ambient electronic film scores ever. This should be a treat for all in attendance.
