I am sitting in a Times Square Starbucks, paying $10 for the privilege to read my story in this week’s Austin Chronicle hot off the (virtual) presses. Welcome To The Jungle is a first person shooter’s account of my former life in the Austin metal underworld.
I am pleased with the finished product. I haven’t written anything for the Chron in awhile, but Raoul Hernandez and Chris Gray always do a good job of making me sound more literate and intelligent than I really am. The story is a real whopper at over 4,000 words. Took me forever to write it, but like I said, I’m pleased (though, truth to tell, if I had known how long it would take, I never would’ve committed to do it).
